In collaboration with the general incorporated association ALLIANCE FOR THE BLUE, we have developed a tote bag called "ALLIANCE FOR THE BLUE x ROOTOTE" that uses recycled fishing nets as part of its raw materials.

The message "WHAT WE CAN DO" is printed on the ROOTOTE pocket, which is the identity of ROOTOTE. The ROOTOTE pocket is made of recycled fabric from discarded fishing nets. All items are equipped with a function to take home small amounts of trash that you produce while out and about. A plastic bag can be easily attached, so you can safely put trash in it. The design is based on the hope that you can easily and enjoyably incorporate sustainability into your daily outings.
About the "ALLIANCE FOR THE BLUE x ROOTOTE" series
ALLIANCE FOR THE BLUE is a cross-industry platform established with the support of The Nippon Foundation, a public interest incorporated foundation, that aims to achieve both marine environmental conservation and economic viability. Fishing nets and ropes make up the largest proportion of marine plastic waste that washes up on Japan's shores, accounting for approximately 26% of the volume. ALLIANCE FOR THE BLUE is promoting the creation of a system for the collection and recycling of discarded fishing nets.
ROOTOTE and ALLIANCE FOR THE BLUE support each other's activities and have collaborated with partner companies to realize this collaboration. A portion of the sales of this product will be used to protect the marine environment through ALLIANCE FOR THE BLUE.

The Refinverse Group, a collaborating company of ALLIANCE FOR THE BLUE, crushes the collected waste fishing nets into fine powder, turns them into recycled plastic pellets (REAMIDE®), and processes them into recycled nylon yarn. The recycled nylon yarn is then woven by the Morito Group, another collaborating company, to produce fabric (Ocean Current®) that contains the waste fishing nets as a raw material. In addition, the fabric used this time is coated with an original coating to prevent it from being see-through, in line with the design image.
